The couple didn’t want a beloved family pet. Instead, they wanted a dog that could be aggressive and keep their yard safe. They tried to get him angry and make him more aggressive.

They used all sorts of horrible ways to try and get this done. But nothing worked. Instead, Toby just got scared and more timid.

He didn’t want to bite anyone. He wasn’t a guard dog. He might have protected people who showed him a lot of love and attention.

But this wasn’t the case for the couple who adopted him. They showed him no love, and he didn’t bond with them at all. They hardly fed him and they treated him horribly.

Someone called in a tip that the dog was being treated badly. Animal control officers went out to check on Toby. It was bad.

They gave the couple a week to fix the problems they saw. If they couldn’t, then the dog would be confiscated and they would be given a big fine. The next time the animal control officers got there, they were shocked.
